ISN North & East Asia Regional Board Webinar: Clinical Practice Guidelines on Onconephrology

With the recent development of various molecular targeted drugs and checkpoint inhibitors, nephrologists are encountering a wide variety of drug-induced kidney injuries in cancer patients with increasing frequency. It is important to recognize the risk of kidney injury associated with cancer treatment because impaired kidney function in cancer patients makes it difficult for them to continue subsequent treatment.

Therefore, the Japanese Society of Nephrology has published “Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Kidney Injury during Anticancer Drug Therapy 2022.” At this meeting, we would like to introduce the guidelines and discuss the current status of onconephrology in Asia.

Learning objectives:

- Know the appropriate method of assessing kidney function in cancer patients.
- Understand the indications of anticancer drug therapy for patients with kidney dysfunction
- Know the strategies for managing kidney injuries caused by anticancer drug therapy
